504 Services

Section 504 is an act, which prohibits discrimination against persons with a disability in any program receiving Federal financial assistance.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES?
A person is considered eligible for services under Section 504 if he/she has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities.
WHAT IS A "MAJOR LIFE ACTIVITY"?
Major life activities include caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, seeing, hearing, eating, sleeping, walking, standing, lifting, bending, speaking, breathing, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating, and working. walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, working, caring for oneself, and performing manual tasks. A major life activity also includes the operation of a major bodily function, including but not limited to, functions of the immune system, normal cell growth, digestive, bowel, bladder, neurological, brain, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, and reproductive functions.
